Vitals Software was started in 1999 and was formed by a partnership of successful senior housing professionals who recognized the need for a comprehensive software solution specifically designed for the unique business practices of an assisted living company. The partners set out to develop a product that would be affordable, leverage the emerging Internet backbone, be customizable to unique practices of different operators in different states and eliminate the duplication of effort caused by multiple detached systems.
Vitals has been successful in achieving these objectives and today is a leader in Assisted Living Software and, arguably, the most flexible and innovative. Some of the unique characteristics that define the needs of a senior housing software provider include the ability for the application to adapt to a wide variety of operational management practices, various state regulatory requirements, limited technology budgets and geographical distribution of facilities. President - Robert Mann is one of the original founders of Vitalsware which began operations in 1999. Recognizing the need in the Assisted Living market for a comprehensive, web-based software platform specifically designed for the industry, Robert partnered with a team of successful senior living entrepreneurs to create the start-up. Today Robert helps guide product innovation, bottom-line performance and market penetration strategies.
Prior to starting Vitals, Robert had been recognized for his achievements in the development, management and acquisition of several successful IT small-business start-ups and experience working inside the Assisted Living market with Alterra Healthcare.
Robert endeavors to fulfill a vision of helping improve a broader segment of AL companies by providing easy-to-use, flexible and affordable tools that allow companies to enhance the dignity and quality of life of the seniors they serve.
VP Operations - Rod Martin has been working in the Senior Living Industry for over 10 years and in the Information Technologies arena for over 20 years. He has held positions in the Senior Living Industry from Lead Software Developer to his current position as Vice President of Operations with Vitals. Rod graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology in Kansas City with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems. Rod’s prior business experience was diverse including a Fortune 100 company, the 2nd largest privately held company, a small ISP, and an Internet based Auto Parts store holding positions emphasizing Application Development, Project Management, and Business Management.
Rod is married with four children, is very active in youth sports, and is an Ordained Minister and the Youth Minister at his home church.
